Vid: Red Right Hand by cupidsbow (Dean/Castiel, PG-15)

This was my vid for Dean/Castiel Secret Santa this year. Not a constructed reality vid for a change! My goal with this was not only to look at the "red hands" of both Dean and Castiel, and explore the moral ambiguity of their relationship, but to make a vid which evoked the American Gothic. I think it came out pretty well -- certainly very gothicy and over the top! In fact, it's becoming a bit of a running joke with my betas that their advice is nearly always, "It's only at 9 right now... take it to 11," when generally good practice is to keep effects and so on to a minimum. I do find it pretty hilarious that my vidding style seems to be: all the effects, all the time.

So this vid has OTT transitions out the wazoo, overlays of film burns and porn, and my first ever use of a "green screen" style effect (the blood in the credits, which was originally black ink). I have to admit that the credits are my favourite part. :)
